Troubleshooting

Console not opening?
Confirm it is enabled in the Game settings, try both ~ and `, or rebind Toggle Console under Keyboard/Mouse.
Connection refused or timed out?
The server may be full, offline, or still loading. Wait a moment, then retry with the complete connect command.
Steam logon error?

Verify the integrity of your game files:

  1. Open Steam and go to your Library.
  2. Right-click the game and select Properties (or click the gear icon).
  3. Click the Installed Files tab in the left-hand menu.
  4. Click "Verify integrity of game files".
  5. Wait for the process to finish, which may take several minutes.
Wrong game version?
CS2 matches run on Counter-Strike 2, the regular free-to-play game on Steam, not the separate CS:GO listing. Make sure Counter-Strike 2 is installed and fully updated. See installation guide →
